Please accept our condolences for the loss of your Wife and Mother, Bernadine. Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to meet her, as our new neighbor in Springfield. We certainly were looking forward to getting to know Leigh and his family as they moved into their new home. We’re so sorry for your loss.

Leigh and Family,
It is so hard to find words to express my sympathy to all of you. Bernie was such a dear friend to me. Our family was so fortunate to have your family as wonderful friends. Bernie will be greatly missed by many.

Lord, you have called home one who we truly love, gone now from our earthly dwelling, leaving behind those who mourn. Grant that as we grieve we may hold memory dear, living in hope of your eternal kingdom where you promise to bring us together again.
I had the pleasure of sharing a few family gatherings with Bernie. She had a joyous personality that was warm and welcomed me to share the days with her family. A mothers love can never be replaced but inside her family she passed on her values of kindness and laughter. May those memories of happier times give you strength in these sad days and be with you always. My prayers are with all of you.

Leigh, Brad, Brian/Leigh, Matthew (and the rest of the Glaza/Sickinger family):
The news of Bernie's passing has not come easy and that there are a lot of aching hearts. Something like this never comes easy especially when it is least expected; it is even more difficult when someone is as special as Bernie.
I have had the blessing of getting to know Bernie these last five years and what an amazing woman she was. Every memory I have with her will always be treasured. Our vacations and road trips (like the time all of the kids got the flu and we had a several hour road trip ahead!), the times we spent shopping together, talking essential oils (only out of love..Brad you still love the smell of Spearmint !), the laughs and tears (Cass/Dar remember the "wet pillow dance?"...still makes me laugh to this day) Her cooking and baking, and the little things that she taught me along the way, like sewing and stitching. But perhaps what I will miss the most are those conversations when we talked about God and Angels and the importance of appreciating each day not knowing if it is our last.
Bernie you will never be forgotten in my heart. I will try my best to master your "secret" recipes that you shared and keep your spirit alive. I will miss not having you to call when I need the pancake recipe in the morning and I promise to never skip the chilies in the breakfast casserole. Thank you for being a strong fighter and leading by example. You brought three amazing men into this world and one could never thank you enough for that.
Leigh, you have always been an amazing husband and I have watched from afar admiring this from day one. I don't think many would challenge this and we will all be here to support you and love you along the way.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this difficult time. Bernie is now an angel keeping a watchful eye sending her love from afar on the wings of eagles.
