I remember sitting in the waiting room at UW Cancer Center feeling scared and overwhelmed...I felt truly comforted when I looked up and saw Brenda who sat next to me and shared her story. Even though she was going through hell she smiled and calmed me about my situation. She was an angel to me that day and now she is surrounded by them. Will miss you Brenda!

My heart is going out to Brenda's family in their time of grief. Brenda and I were kids together. Even if she hadn't seen me in years, whenever we ran into each other it was like we had only been apart a short time. Then when we were older we both worked at McCain's together and we would run into each other at IGA. She was one of the greatest. I will miss you dear friend.

You will always bring joy to me and my family, I may not have been blood family but you snd your family have always welcomed me into your lives as part of the family and I will always be forever grateful for that. Jeff is definitely right on the open door policy. When I decorate for Christmas every year I will always have a part of you in my home! You were loved by many and still are! May you rest in peace with the angels. Love Heather and family

Our fondest memories of Brenda always include her sheer joy in welcoming family and friends to her home and table. Impromptu get-togethers were never seen by Brenda as an inconvenience---she treasured time with her family and friends. She always had an open door policy and she truly lived and believed "the more the merrier". In her last days, her sense of humor was a source of comfort to all and we're sure that she's already regaling family and friends who've gone before her with her special wit.
To Terry, kids and grandkids---may all the wonderful memories of your wife, Mom and grandmother bring peace to your hearts in the days ahead.
Jeff & Kris Passineau

My oldest sister was in many ways like a mother to me and all of my siblings. She was our laughter, strength & hope for all of her life, even in her last hours we laughted, cried and as she put it to my daughters: "how the hell do you think I'm feeling? I'm dying. " May her 6 children find strength from the strongest woman I know my sister Brenda! :-) I love you all and most importantly take care of the best husband and father I know your Dad...Terry Hicks Sr. Love Mary
