It is with such a sad heart that I read about Lois' passing. The last time I communicated with her was when she was going into hospice. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the memorial service in CT because I am in FL.
I could write pages about what a wonderful friend Lois was. I worked with her at Harwinton Consolidated School for only a short time but we never lost touch. She was a true renaissance lady. The trips and adventures she planned for us will never be forgotten. Our last trip together was a a riverboat cruise on the Rhine River. We savored every moment because we weren't sure if we would have another trip together.
She was a remarkable woman who lived life to the fullest and I will carry her spirit and zest for life with me always.
I have added several photos. There were so many wonderful trips that these are just some of the latest.
Rest in peace Lois. You were loved and will be missed by many.

Some people are hard to forget. Lois is one of those people. She was an instructor in the ARCLMS program when I was certified to be a Library Media Specialist in CT. I will always remember her enthusiasm for her craft and her passion for books and students. My heart is sad and I send my sympathy to her family and friends.

With great admiration and sadness, I send along my prayers and memories of Lois. As a fellow educator, she had my respect, appreciation and joy in her good work. Her standards and energy were high, and her passion for teaching and being a professional colleague were inspiring. As a friend and community leader, Lois was gentle, wise with a ready smile and wry sense of humor. I know so many people touched by her life and appreciate what a sad good by this is for them and for her family. I picture her and Donald-in his cowboy boots, of course-making heaven an even lovelier place for themselves and others, just as they did in our town here on earth. Thank you, Lois.
Sincerely,
Patty Cassella

I was a volunteer at Tootin' Hills School and served as her "replacement" for a time, but no one could replace her. Lois was the most energetic, enthusiastic and positive person I have ever known. I will remember her so fondly, and I am sure she inspired so many young people with a lifelong love of reading and learning. She will be missed.
