Obituary of Nicholas J. Ferk

Nicholas J. Ferk, age 69, passed away on October 24, 2020 following a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Emily Ferk and Rebecca (Jacob) Vest. He is also survived by his mother, Geraldine Ferk and Brothers and Sisters: David Ferk, Stephen(Bonnie) Ferk, Kristin(Joseph) Dragan, James(Cathy Jones) Ferk, Coralee Ott, Jerome(Fiancée Lori Stensberg) Ferk, Aaron(Misty) Ferk, Thomas(Nicole Rucinski-Rickaby) Ferk , Rachel(Dave) Gause . He was preceded in death by his father David, Sister Kathryn, and Brother Andrew. Nicholas was born in Wisconsin Rapids on November 27, 1950. He graduated from Lincoln High school in 1969. Following graduation he entered the army serving in Vietnam during 1970-1971, where he was awarded the bronze star. After military service he located in Falls Church, VA where he met and married Linda VandenBerg. Nick was a proud and loving father to his two daughters Emily and Rebecca. Nick had a passion for many things. Among his favorites were his music and restoring old Fords. He shared these passions with his friends but especially his daughters. As those lucky enough to spend time with Nick, whether at home in his garage or working with him in the many aspects of the construction business and Custom Cabinet Making can attest to, Nick was a natural teacher. His knowledge and philosophy were demonstrated through his actions and words. He was happiest when surrounded by those important to him. Nick and Linda moved back to Wisconsin Rapids to enjoy retirement and be near family Private family services are being held.
