Obituary of Steven W. Vanderhoef

Steven W. Vanderhoef, age 63, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of Steve’s life will take place from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Steve was born November 7, 1956 in Wisconsin Rapids to John and Lorretta (Fletcher) Vanderhoef. He married Kim Baerenwald on August 7, 2001 in Las Vegas, NV. Steve was employed as a coater worker at Consolidated Papers Inc/Stora Enso in the Biron Division for 30 years. He also worked for a short time as a realtor with Terry Wolfe Realty. Steve was very handy at doing home projects and enjoyed fixing things. He was always helping people. He loved taking road trips to see new things. He had a great sense of humor. Steve is survived by his wife, Kim; two step-children: Shannon Marti and Shane Marti; two step-grandchildren: Bryson Marti and Mya Marti; his siblings: Larry Vanderhoef, Sue (Chet) Cwiklo, and Mark Vanderhoef; in-laws: Terry Young and Gale Baerenwald; several nieces and nephews; special aunt, Della Walker; and special friends, Clarence and Julie Thurber. He was preceded in death by his parents, special uncle LaVern “Red” Walker, and mother-in-law Darla Baerenwald. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Aspirus Riverview Cancer Center and Aspirus Hospice for the care they provided to Steve.
