Obituary of Kay Ellen Heller

Kay E. Heller, age 63, of Wisconsin Rapids, went to Heaven to be with her Lord on Monday, April 13, 2020. Due to concern for friends and family, a private burial will take place for the immediate family at Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Beth Rohn-Habhegger will officiate. A celebration of Kay’s life will take place at a later date. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Kay Heller and her family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net. Kay was born May 4, 1956 in Wisconsin Rapids to Robert and Dorris (Braun) Havlik. She lived in Biron, WI and attended Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Kay obtained a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. She lived and worked in Florida briefly before returning to Wisconsin to care for her father as he battled Lou Gehrig’s disease. Kay was married for 25 years to Gary Heller and had two children, Robert Heller and Amy (Heller) Gray. Kay expressed passion for her work as an activity director in nursing homes, memory care homes, assisted living facilities, psychiatric facilities, and cared deeply for her residents, many of whom considered her not only a caretaker but a good friend as well. Kay was an avid member of the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church who filled its services and moved its members through music. She was a talented piano and guitar player who was passionate about sharing her musical gifts with others. Kay is survived by her children, Robert Heller and his fiancé, Ellen Preston, Amy (Heller) Gray and her husband, Zachary Gray, and her fiancé, Christopher W Robbins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn, and brother, Robert Havlik.
