Obituary of Bret James Stublaski

Bret James Stublaski, age 48, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away, Saturday, March 21, 2020. Due to our current circumstances, a celebration of Bret’s life will take place at a later date. Bret was born May 3, 1971 in Wisconsin Rapids to Norbert and Cheryl (Ubinger) Stublaski. He graduated from Lincoln High School as a member of the class of 1989. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm. Bret was a first responder and fire fighter during the Gulf War. He was a loving son and brother. Uncle Bret was adored by his ten nieces and nephews. He had a heart of gold and always put others’ needs before his own. Bret is loved and will be deeply missed by many. Bret was the owner of Bret’s Best Drywall and Small Carpentry. He loved anything to do with the outdoors and travelling around the world. Bret had a lifelong passion for animals. When he wasn’t busy working, he enjoyed spending his free time with his family. Bret is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cheryl and Joseph De Ruiter; his stepmother, Cindy (Don) Regner; his siblings: Brandon (Julia) Stublaski, Rebekah (Keegan Culbertson) De Ruiter, Joseph (Lesley Hodgkins) De Ruiter, Jenny (Mat) Elmhorst, Cody (Amanda) Stublaski, and Elizabeth (Ian) Kurzinski; he is further survived by his nieces and nephews. Bret is preceded in death by his father, Norbert Stublaski; his grandparents: John and Elenor Stublaski, Helen Jergensen, Howard Ubinger, and Joseph and Pearl De Ruiter; he is further preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mary and Louis Stublaski.
