Earl was a special soul who embodied the all the characteristics of the "Greatest Generation"
Humility
Strong Work Ethic
Faithful - Fierce Loyalty
Patriotic
Prudent
Personal Responsibility
Earl was a living example of the core values of the United State Navy (Honor-Courage-Commitment):
*Always do right - even in the face of adversity*
*Always exhibited the highest degree of moral character*
*Always abide by an uncompromising code of integrity*
Simply put... Earl was a rare soul -- a man with a heart bigger than this world.
Always thinking of others and putting others first.
Earl was among one of the finest men I have ever met in my life --- a shining example of what I hope and pray
my son will become.
They do not make men like Earl!
Rest in Peace my comrade -- knowing you left your mark on this world and all who had the honor and privilege of knowing you!

My Grandpa was a truly AMAZING person and a very special Grandpa!! Although we didn't see each other often, since my family moved out to NY when I was 6 years old, we always made the most of our time together during our annual summer vacations to visit our extended family in Wisconsin. We really enjoyed spending time together and he always knew how to make me laugh!
After my Grandma Arndt passed away in 2015, my Grandpa and I developed an even stronger, closer connection ( I would do my best to call him on a weekly basis!) and I realized just how much we were alike in so many different ways. I'm still in awe of how much he did during his 93 years on this earth and by how many lives he touched in such a positive way! He was always committed to helping others and serving the community, and was especially committed to various Veterans' organizations, which meant SO much to him! I am going to miss him dearly and love him very much!
Once his health began to decline over the past month, however, and based on the conversations I had with him while he was in Hospice care, I do believe that he was ready to join his wife (my Grandpa) and daughter (my Mom) in heaven and be at peace and no longer suffering. Grandpa, thanks for all of your support, love and encouragement over the years! God Bless You and may you rest in peace!

Please accept my condolences. I remember Earl with great fondness -- he often shared his thoughts with me when I would do a story for the Daily Tribune. He had such a great smile and personality. May your memories often bring a smile to your faces.
