Obituary of Mary J. Lockman

Mary J. Lockman, age 63, of Pittsville, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the Marshfield Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 beginning at 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

Mary was born July 25, 1956 in Baraboo, WI to Ervin and Edith Mae (Kingsley) Sipla. On February 10, 1973 she married Marvin Mason to which 2 children were born. She had worked for a manufacturing company and as a full-time mother and wife up until the marriage ended in divorce. She later married Michael Lockman on January 12, 1999 where she became a full-time loving housewife. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Michael up until she got ill and battling breast cancer in 2009. Michael says, “she was his best friend and loving wife and grandmother that he could ever ask for that he married.”

She enjoyed coloring, painting, drawing, reading, traveling in the semi with her husband, spending time with her dog, and being a loving caring mother, wife, grandmother, and sister.

Mary is survived by her husband, Michael Lockman; her daughters, Monica (Jeremy) Mason of Wisconsin Rapids, and Michelle Mason of Pittsville; her sister, Betty Jones of Wisconsin Rapids; her grandkids, Josh (Samantha) Mason of Wisconsin Rapids, and Michael Mason of Pittsville; her great-grandkids: Natalie, Aleaha, and Lydia of Wisconsin Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is further survived by her loving dog, Precious.  In addition to her parents and grandparents, Mary is preceded in death by her brothers, Michael “Mick” Sipla, Douglas “Bud” Akkerman, and Gary Sipla.
