Obituary of Joann Adriana Dix
Joann A. Dix, age 69, of Bancroft, WI, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.
Joann was born April 5, 1950 in Outagamie County, WI to Joseph and Rose (Terry) Jansen. She married Raymond Dix Jr. on September 18, 1971 in Little Chute, WI. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage and two children, Adriana and Raymond III.
She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant doing in-home care until her retirement. She was also a certified CPR instructor, enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross, as a HAM Radio Operator and making deliveries for Meals on Wheels.
Joann loved to read anything she could get her hands on. She was skilled in handiwork and liked quilting and acrylic painting. She enjoyed doing puzzles, shooting pool, playing Scrabble and BINGO, and watching movies (The Fifth Element and The Abyss were some of her favorites). Joann was an animal lover and enjoyed being with her pets. In their earlier years, She and Ray enjoyed spending one month out of the year on the Gulf coast as well as attending tractor shows and steam shows, fishing and camping.
Joann is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Dix Jr.; one daughter, Adriana Dix (Andy) of Almond; one son, Raymond J. Dix III (Dianna) of Stevens Point; granddaughters, Jorja Rae and Abby; sister-in-law, Sandy (Gary) Johnson of Wisconsin Rapids; niece, Marissa Johnson (Matt) of Wisconsin Rapids; special friends, Katie McCanna and Bonnie Waldherr; and many more nieces and nephews and in-laws. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Louise and Betty.
