Joan was a great educator, motivator, inspiration and one of my favorite teachers. I know a lot of kids didn't like her but she pushed me to excel and she is what made Algebra fun for me in junior high, I believe she was a key part of my love for working with numbers. Reading thru her obituary sparked a number of family memories visiting Don & Joan in Sturgeon Bay on their sailboat, skiing at Indianhead and most recently seeing her and Don at the Corvettes of the North car cruises. I'm so sorry for your family's loss, she truly lived life to the fullest.
