Can still recall all the shenanigans, music and fun Doug and my son Jim provided for our families, plus all their school’ buddies. They were sure to include any of their siblings in their escapades.
Feeling sad to see us losing another Ketelle from “on the corner”.

One Valentine's Day Doug came home and proudly handed me a bouquet. I examined it and said Honey all the flowers in it are dried up and dead. He said oh I saw the pretty cellophane wrap and purple flowers and grabbed them quick as there were only 2 left. I said the purple is a dried weed, that's the only reason they were left as no one else wanted them. Later I heard him on the phone saying " Yes I bought my wife dead flowers for Valentine's Day ". We got a laugh out of it anyway.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I knew Doug in the late 70's when he hung around with Jim Mansavage, Joe Beck and that whole gang. I was part of their gang too and so enjoyed his kind and thoughtful ways. I also knew his sister Linda many years later when she started to cone to Fly and some of her children. I am so glad that Doug one Jesus and is with Him now! Praying for comfort and peace for you that you may rest in the knowledge you will see him one day again!

Deepest condolences to the family. You will be missed. I didn't know you well, Doug, but you were a kind hearted and decent individual. I'll never forget playing songs and singing and laughing till the wee hours in your front room, tho it was only a few times, and many years ago.

Lost touch yrs ago when I moved to TX but remember him as a much younger man when he worked with my father. I DO know he sold my late brother Rodney Wolosek his first Gretsch Guitar. I hope in some way, they are reunited in Heaven jamming in a band that only heaven could have!
Love you Elaine, and condolence sent to your entire family on this great loss.

Doug said 2 days before he passed that he kept having dreams every time he started to go to sleep that he was in the woods deer hunting with a friend. Then added " This makes me very happy. " He wasn't able to do this for quite a few years due to his arthritis and needing back surgery, so I feel he was already seeing his life on the other side and this made me feel happy for Doug.
