Wilbur was born December 8, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI to Ernest and Nellie (Sorenson) Anderson. He graduated from Lincoln High School as a member of the Class of 1938. After graduation, Wilbur began his life’s work as a carpenter apprentice. His career as a carpenter was proudly interrupted, when he honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II, from 1940 to 1945 in the 129th field artillery battalion, 32nd division Red Arrow. After serving his country, Wilbur continued his apprenticeship, eventually obtaining the status of master carpenter and cabinet maker. Wilbur married the love of his life, Loreen Neuman on September 8, 1945.  They were blessed with nearly 49 years of memories, until she entered heaven on June 21, 1994.

He appreciated God’s wonderful creation, especially hunting and fishing.  Wilbur treasured his family and cherished spending time with them at any opportunity. Trips to Montana was always something he looked forward to doing. Wilbur enjoyed playing cribbage any chance he got, in fact, he played his son, Mike, in a game just a week ago and “skunked” him. Then there was always the “Anderson Rule” – NO LOOKING if you were ahead by 20 points! He liked to go for rides, especially at Christmas time, to see the decorations and lights around the area. (Even though we got lost doing so last Christmas Eve – he brought it up several times since then!). Wilbur was truly honored to be able to go on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C.  It was a highlight in his life that he talked about fondly.

Wilbur loved the Lord with all his heart and was looking forward to going home to be with his beloved wife, Loreen.  He is cherished and will be deeply missed.

Wilbur is survived by his children: Mike (Carol) Anderson, Dennis (Paulette) Anderson, Larry (Paula) Anderson, Peter (Jean) Anderson, Mark Anderson, and Debbie (Donny) Holwegner; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-greatgrandchildren; he is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.  In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Teresa Anderson; and his brothers: Clifford Anderson and Edmund “Bud” Anderson.
