Obituary of Ardith J. Malcolm

Ardith J. Malcolm age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at The Waterford in Wisconsin Rapids.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Chuck Bradbury will officiate. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will take place from noon until the  time of service on Saturday at church. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.

Ardith was born on July 28, 1927 to Arthur and Ina (Spice) Sarver in Wisconsin Rapids.

She married Ken Malcolm on November 29, 1947 in Nekoosa at the Congregational Church. Her first job was working at Nekoosa Papers. Later she worked side by side with her husband at Ken’s Stop and Shop in Jefferson, Wisconsin.  They also lived in Marshfield and Rhinelander. They were blessed with 49 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 1996.

Ardith was very active in the Baptist church, loved being in the kitchen, where she created wonderful meals and treats for her family and friends. She was especially well known for her potato salad and angel food cake. Her children always held a very special place in her heart.

She loved nature and the outdoors, especially bird watching.  She loved her church and lived God’s word to the fullest.

Ardith is survived by many nieces and nephews and her special friend, Amber Sanders.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, parents, son Keith and siblings and their spouses; Donald (Delores) Sarver, Ken (Fran) Sarver, Merle (Marilyn) Sarver, Roy (Joanne) Sarver, Dorothy (Sylvester) Konietzki, Audrey (Howard) Gray and Juanita (John) Kroll.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to First Baptist Church.
