Marjorie was born October 2, 1919 in Coon Valley, WI to Anton and Bertha (Taylor) Kerska.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in LaCrosse County.

Marjorie grew up during the depression.  She began working at the age of 14 as a Mother’s helper.  She also worked for many years on a farm and as a waitress.  She later worked for 11 years at Badger Ordinance in Merrimac and 13 years in the electrical coil factory in Baraboo.

Marjorie was a seamstress and made clothes for her family and other people.  She also did crochet work; handcrafting baby clothes, afghans, doilies and such.  She was an ardent fisherman! Of wherever she goes, if they have fishing, she’ll be in heaven!
