Lynda Thompson

Obituary of Lynda K. Thompson

Lynda K. Thompson, 57, of Wisconsin Rapids, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 28, 2018, after a six-year battle with cancer, with her husband John by her side.

She was born in Port Edwards to James and Sue (Lybrand) Ketelle, the fifth of seven children born to that family. Although her first marriage to Randy Voss ended in divorce, five children (all boys) were born to them.

Her second marriage was to John Thompson of Madison, Wisconsin, which expanded her motherhood responsibilities to eight children, as she inherited three more boys as her step-children. Lynda loved them all and was loved by them as well.

Lynda is survived by her husband, John Thompson; sons, Dante, Jared and Josiah Voss; brother, Doug (Elaine) Ketelle; sisters, Jayne Knapp (and her son, Jason) and Amy Irwin; step-mother, Kay Neukirchin; step-sons, Jonathan, Corey (Sunee) and Joe Thompson; grandchildren, Hope, Braylin, Kyanna, Mason, Jax, Keegan, Roman, Canon and Aubrey; sister-in-law, Debra Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Isaiah and Caleb Voss; brothers, Dave and John Ketelle; sister, Vicky Bennett; and nephew, Alan Knapp.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards. The Rev. Dean Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Village of Port Edwards Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
