Amber Schneider

Obituary of Amber L. (Hopp) Schneider

Amber Lee (Hopp) Schneider, age 40, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  Rev. Michelle Nickodemus will officiate.  Burial will be at Plover Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to attend at time of visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wedneday, August 1 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church.

Amber was born March 7, 1978 in Stevens Point, WI to Marvin and Loreen (Porter) Hopp.  She graduated from Stevens Point Area High School (SPASH) in 1996.  She furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2001.  She became employed as a social worker at Inclusa (formerly Community Care of Central Wisconsin) in 2004 and was the director of member services at the time of her death.

Amber was united in marriage to Brad Schneider on November 1, 2008 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plover.  They were blessed with 10 years of marriage and the birth of a daughter, Avery.

Amber liked to travel, shop, garden, gather with friends and relatives, go boating and fishing, and attend her daughter Avery’s activities.  She loved “the beach” and went to beaches all over Mexico and the Caribbean, but her favorite has always been Orange Beach, Alabama.  To Amber, there was nothing better then sitting in the sun and the sand with a drink in her hand; watching her daughter Avery play in the water.

Amber is survived by her loving husband, Brad Schneider and their precious daughter, Avery; parents, Marvin and Lori Hopp of Plover; sister, Tara (Chad) Evans of Appleton, WI; grandmother, Edna Porter of Plover; in-laws, Pete and Barb Schneider of Wisconsin Rapids; brother-in-law, Brent (Vicki) Schneider of Topeka, KS; nephews: Bryce and Landon Evans and Jacob Schneider; many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and colleagues.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Harry Porter, Marvin Hopp Sr. and Ellen Hopp.

Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

The Hopp and Schneider families would like to thank Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield Medical Center and UW Cancer Center for their care of Amber over the past seven years.  We would especially like to thank Dr. Arlene Gayle and nurse Debbie for their tireless efforts and their friendship.  We would also like to thank the staff at House of the Dove in Marshfield for their hospice care.
