Obituary of Luetta Webster

Luetta L. Webster, age 85, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday, July 9, 2018 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Calvary Chapel, 3350 Evergreen Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids.  Pastor Richard Pickens will officiate.  Burial will be at Lone Pine Cemetery in Almond.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the church.

Luetta was born March 22, 1933 in Wausau, WI to Carl and Enid (Cottrell) Kasten.  She married Howard Webster on December 24, 1953 in Milwaukee, WI.  He preceded her in death on December 1, 1989.

She worked in production at Ore-Ida Foods until her retirement.

Luetta was the family card shark and trivia master.  She was skilled at Rummy and Trivial Pursuit.  She loved to read and enjoyed watching television in her downtime and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, or Dancing With the Stars.  Luetta loved to be surrounded by her family.  She always provided for a balanced meal and made sure the family ate together.  She was skilled at handiwork and enjoyed crocheting and quilting and gave away many of her items as gifts and to missions.  Luetta was a skilled bargain hunter and loved shopping at area thrift stores.  She had a great sense of humor and will long be remember for her “Grandma Lickins”, this was her gentle way of discipline, she would say she was going to lick their face if they didn’t listen to her.  Luetta was a longtime, active member of Calvary Chapel in the town of Saratoga and a volunteer with the MOPS program at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards.

Luetta is survived by four children: Michael (Stephanie) Webster of Wisconsin Rapids, Kenneth (Lara) Webster of Hartford, WI, Anne (Terrence) Sullivan of Lemont, IL, and Daniel (Cheryl) Webster of Wisconsin Dells; 15 grandchildren: Kari (Aaron) Schulz, Andrew Webster, Adam Webster, Rachel Webster, Amanda (Douglas) Christianson, Mark (Marsha) Webster, Melissa (Matt) Brogan, Richard (Angie) Webster, Jeremy (Janel) Webster, Kate (Jonathan) Coates, Shannon Sullivan, Bridget Sullivan, Colleen Sullivan, Meghan Sullivan, Olivia Webster and Paige Kush; 21 great-grandchildren: Sydney and Kendall Schulz, Connor and Payton Webster, Cortney Caylee, Dawn, Douglas III and Michael Christianson, Francis, Marianne and Mary Webster, Victoria Webster, Tanner Hahn, James, Jacob, Jonathan, Joy and Jeremiah Webster, and Anabella, Ariel and Matthew Webster; three step-children: John Peckham, Jean Nelson and Belinda McGinnis; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Webster (widow of Donald Webster) of Wisconsin Rapids.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, son Donald, grandsons Michael Webster Jr. and Jason Webster, daughter-in-law Marianne Webster (Michael’s first wife), and two brothers: Richard Kasten and Harvey Kasten.

She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great-great-grandchild due March, 2019 and another great-granddaughter, her namesake, Luetta Webster due October 2018.

Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Calvary Chapel.
