Obituary of Michael Allen

Michael N. Allen, 76, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1941, in Laona, to the late Kenneth and Eileen (Nelson) Allen, and graduated high school in Laona. He then attended the UW-Wisconsin Marathon County Center.

Michael retired as a purchasing agent at Domtar. His interests included collecting science fiction books, woodworking, puzzles and sudoku.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Wisconsin Rapids; daughters, Shari Allen of Wausau, Terri Allen of Madison, and Michelle (fiancée James Gauerke, Jr.) Allen of Wausau; grandchildren, Brianna Woodruff, Derek Woodruff, Jade Zakrzewski and Haleigh Cassiani; sisters, Joan Bradle, Kay Alderton and Maureen Allen; and brother, Thomas (Sandra) Allen.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Brunkalla and Karen Knoll.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, with Chaplain Kristi Kleinbeck officiating.
