Rose was a faithful member of Faith Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Rose was a great lover of music. She demonstrated this love by serving years as church organist and accompanying the choir and men’s quartet. She was a beloved piano teacher to dozens of students. Her example provided her children and grandchildren with a lifelong love of song. Rose was a devout attendee of the Christian Women’s Club and a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary. The family enjoyed traveling much of the US and Canada to attend Gideon Conventions. She loved reading and solving crossword puzzles. Rose and Lawrence operated a restaurant called Kenny’s Grill when the kids were young. She and Lawrence never said no to housing and cooking for visiting pastors and entertained many guests in their home.
Rose is survived by three daughters: LaVonne (James) Hoogesteger, Charlotte (Roger) Knipple, and Linda Anunson; granddaughters: Wendy Knipple, Dawn (Tony) Huizinga, Ann Meverden, Amy (Ryan) Scheide and Lisa (Charlie) Klein; great-grandchildren: Arn and Will Huizinga, Natalie and Caleb Dampier, Angela and Rebecca Kniprath, Alexis and Taylor Straughan, and Jesse, Adrienne and Gabrielle Scheide; as well as two great-great-grandsons: Aiden and Trenton. She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; infant daughter, Cynthia; grandsons: Lawrence and Paul Barton; son-in-law, Lee Anunson; brothers: Henry Joling and Bert (Bonita) Joling; and great-granddaughter, Christina. She loved her family and role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed
Her faith was strong and an example for all that knew her. She is now with those that went before her to the house of the Lord. The family is grateful for the loving care she received at Edenbrook Nursing Home as well as Our House Assisted Living.
