Obituary of Crystal R. Delaney

Crystal Renea Delaney, age 48, of Nekoosa, WI passed away at her home on Monday, May 14, 2018, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  Rev. Jack Austin will officiate.  Burial will be at New Rome Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the church.

Crystal was born November 3, 1969 in Wisconsin Rapids to Hugh “Art” and Joye (Olson) Schneider.  She was united in marriage to Darren Delaney on July 15, 1989 at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards.

Crystal invested her life in caring for others.  She was a full-time homemaker and a home school teacher for her children.  She was very creative, enjoyed crafting, and had an eye for interior decorating.  Crystal was very strong in her Christian faith.  She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was chairperson of Women’s Missionary Fellowship for many years.  She enjoyed witnessing to others and took mission trips with her daughter, Kayla, to Mexico and Belgium.

Crystal is survived by her husband, Darren; children: Kayla (Kodiak) Boersma of Barron, WI and their daughter, Addilyn, and Brysen Delaney of Wisconsin Rapids; her mother, Joye Dimka of Wisconsin Rapids; her brother, Jay Schneider of Cincinnati, OH; and her in-laws: Gerald and Connie Delaney of Port Edwards.  She is preceded in death by her father, Hugh “Art” Schneider and her step-father, Gary Dimka.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Faith Baptist Mission: Faye Obgartel – Meds for Missions also known as “Meds for Mali”.
