Obituary of Bernadyne Rosenthal
Bernadyne Isabelle Rosenthal, 87, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Our House Senior Living on 16th Street, surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15th at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16th at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Ader officiating. Visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. She will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bernadyne was born Oct. 7, 1930, in Wisconsin Rapids, to the late Irma (Buelow) and Leonard Bulgrin. She married Donald E. Rosenthal on Feb. 27, 1954. They resided in Kellner, where they raised their seven children.
Bernadyne’s passions in life were being a wonderful wife, a devoted mother to her children and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and baker. In her free time, she enjoyed working with flowers, and in her garden growing vegetables that she would can for future meals.
Before she married, she worked at the Consolidated Paper Mill and Montgomery Ward’s in Wisconsin Rapids; and then after raising her family, she worked at the Kellner Branch Bank until retiring.
Her favorite past time was bowling, where she belonged to several different bowling leagues and was active in many bowling tournaments. She was involved in the Ladies Guild at the St. John Lutheran Church, and a member of the Grand Rapids Lioness Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Dixie (Jim) of Plover; sons, Gary (Pam), Scott (Jane), Kurt (Jan), Tracy, Cody (Wendy) and Dean (Anissa) all of Wisconsin Rapids; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bonnie Hafermann, Brenda Mayek and Belva Tryba; and brother, Belvin Bulgrin.
She was preceded in death by husband, Donald; her parents, Irma and Leonard Bulgrin; and a granddaughter, Alexis.
