Obituary of Mary A White

Mary A. White, age 61, of Racine, WI, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Traditional Native American funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Young residence in Vesper. Daniel Smith will officiate. Burial will take place at White Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Young residence.  Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.

Mary was born December 21, 1956 in Wisconsin Rapids to Vernon and Alice (Andy) White.  She married Al Redd on November 2, 2010 in Waukegan, IL.  When Mary was a child, she had her cousins to grow up with her. She was the only child of her mother Alice Andy and father Vernon White. She also had her father’s sons to look up to.  That would grow with her while she grew older.

Mary has a wonderful family, a family that she did a lot of travels with. She loved family outings, birthdays, holidays, weddings, and graduations. Mary’s hobbies included sewing, beading, painting, and drawing. Her daughter, Clarissa Friday, started her a family reunion. The family will continue to honor her by doing it every three years in her name as a tradition.

Mary is survived by her children: Forest (Nicole Sponholtz) Norton, Jacob (Michelle Martine) Norton, Jerome Norton, Veronica Rosas, Ruth Rosas, Melissa (Pedro Gonzalez) Norton, Clarissa (Jeremiah) Friday, Jonathan (Justina) Norton, Sonny (Gale Storm) Norton, and Jerico (Heather Akred) Norton; 38 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Fred (Pat) White, Bobby (Eileen Funmaker) White, and Johnny Montelvo; her sister-in-law, Sue White; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Jonathan White; a granddaughter, Rainbow Decorah; and siblings: Leon White and Raymond White.
