Marilyn Kite

Obituary of Marilyn J Kite

Marilyn Kite, age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids died unexpectedly at Aspirus Riverview Hospital on January 27, 2018 with her beloved family at her side.

Marilyn was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1926. She graduated from Kalamazoo High School in 1944. She later met Bill Kite shortly before he was drafted into the U.S. Army for World War II and they were married in 1947.

Marilyn worked for Clarraige Fan Company as a secretary while Bill finished his education.  When their two sons, Alan and Charles joined their family in 1954 and 1955, Marilyn devoted her time to raising her boys and homemaking. They lived in Kalamazoo where Bill worked at Lee Paper in research and development.

Upon Alan's death in 1960, they moved to Chillicothe, Ohio.  In 1970, when Mead Corporation had major layoffs, they moved to Wisconsin Rapids.

Marilyn found joy here in serving others; volunteering for the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary and a day care for handicapped children.

For the next 25 years she did home health care or babysitting, loving each one like her own family.  After Bill died in 1997, Marilyn found comfort in reading her Bible and many other books; sending encouraging notes and cards to friends and family; helping older ladies with various tasks; beautifying her house and yard and loving everyone who came across her path.

She was a champion of Biblical values and a member of the Evangelical Free Church for many years. A committed Christian, she delighted in studying scripture and let the love of Jesus shine through her life.

Throughout the trials of her life she held tightly to God's promises with child-like trust, understanding that her life was in God's hands.

She loved people and touched the lives of everyone she met.

Because of placing her faith in Jesus Christ alone, she is now in God's presence.

She is survived by one son, Charles (Priscilla) Kite.

Services will be Saturday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church, 611 Cook Ave., Wisconsin Rapids.  Interment will be at Swedish Christian Cemetery in Arpin.

Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
