Obituary of Joni R Jelinski

Joni R. Jelinski (Hoekstra), age 63, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 23rd, 2017 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. Born August 21st, 1954 in Wisconsin Rapids, she is the daughter of Richard and Betty Hoekstra.  She graduated in 1972 from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids and married Conrad Jelinski on July 23rd, 1983.  Being someone who always worked hard, Joni spent many years as an administrative and billing clerk for Air Communications in Wisconsin Rapids.  In recent years, she fought a courageous battle with cancer and relished spending more time with her family.  Joni always appreciated the simple pleasures of life such as sharing in her husband’s love of classic cars, playing a competitive game of Yahtzee around the kitchen table and snuggling with her dogs during a favorite TV show.  She was blessed with a compassionate heart and always sought to impart that value upon her children.

Joni is survived by her husband, Conrad, daughter Jessie (Josh) Lloyd, son Jeffery Jelinski, sister Richelle (John) Anderson, parents Richard and Betty Hoekstra as well as her nieces, nephews and many cousins.  She is preceded in death by her sister Cheryl Hoekstra and daughter Jamie Jelinski.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 27th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  The family will gather to greet friends and share memories from 3-6pm with a service to begin at 6pm.  A private family burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
