Obituary of Myrtle Ruth King

Myrtle Ruth King, age 93, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.


Myrtle was born March 31, 1924 in Wisconsin Rapids to Walter and Lydia (Haferman) Beck.  She married Kenneth King on July 24, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids.  He died on October 24, 2005.


Myrtle worked for Bennett Cranberry Company doing harvest labor and as a meat wrapper at West Grand IGA in Wisconsin Rapids until her retirement.


She had a special love for animals, especially dogs.


Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Kubisiak; sons, Delwin King and Ronald (Darlene) King; grandchildren: David Kubisiak, Kari (Steve) Schroeder, Kelly (Matt) Klessig, Korey King, Nicole (Murray) Woods, and Heather (Josh) Egerer; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Beverly (Jerry) Demille; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vera and Gladys; in-laws, Roy and Lyda King; son-in-law, Dave Kubisiak; brothers-in-law: Clifford, Ed, Myron, Harlan, Lawrence, and Sylvester.


Private family services were held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  Pastor Mary Lou Plummer officiated.  Burial was at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.


Memorials may be designated to the South Wood County Humane Society.
