Obituary of Dale J. Paulin
Dale J. Paulin, age 66, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 20 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Fr. Jerome Patric will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 19 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 8:00 P.M., and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 22 at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI.
Dale was born April 30, 1951, in Escanaba, Michigan, to Gordon and Bernice (St. Peter) Paulin. He married Mary Jones on March 30, 1973, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escanaba.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1970-1971.
Dale worked as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years until his retirement in 2012.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting (especially for deer and birds) and fishing. He loved riding his motorcycle, woodworking, DIY home projects, shooting pool, collecting coins and guns and archery. He cherished time with family, watching his grandchildren play hockey and his daughters play softball throughout the years. He was a proud member of Disabled American Veterans and the National Dusters, Quads and Search Lights Association.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters: Rhonda Sanders, Mindy (Ryan) Abbeduto, Kayla (Fiacre) Brissi, Andrea Paulin and Ashley Paulin; grandchildren: Austin Paulin, Harley Sanders, Nevaeh Paulin, Traeh Paulin, Gracelynn Freund, and Emmanuel Brissi; brother, Terry (Gloria) Paulin; and sister, Carol (William) Stenger. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Bernice Paulin, and daughter, Holly Paulin.
Dale’s family would like to thank all that have prayed, offered support, visited, and assisted him during this difficult journey. A special thank you to William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital Oncology and Infusion Team, Ministry Home Care Hospice Services, and Herman-Taylor Funeral Home for all their support and services.
