I am so so sorry for your loss. May you feel God's presence during this most difficult time. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
Isaiah 40:11
Like a shepherd he takes care of his flock.
He gathers the lambs in his arms.
He carries them in his arms.
He gently helps the sheep and their lambs.
This is my favorite verse and I pray you find comfort.
Love Always in Christ,
Kristy L. Witek

Brian will certainly be missed by many friends not only on the two fire departments, but in the entire area as he was a nice caring guy with a great sense of humor that was always willing to lend a helping hand where he could.
Having worked with him many times over the last few decades, I would say that he was a "diamond in the rough" that passed much too early. He was the type of person that inspired others around him to be better and his children will be reminded of that often.
He was a great role model for others as a pillar in the community, something that is not seen much these days anymore in today's society. That could be because those great role models that taught him the ropes along the way.
There is really no words that can express or even start to fill the void when we lose a good friend, a brother that we served with fighting some fierce fires or dealing with some calls that had some interesting outcomes, but we shall take a moment to reflect of all the great moments, those are what should be really be remembered.
Brian, rest assure that your family will be looked out for down here on earth. As your brothers and sisters in the fire service will make sure that they are taken care of as that is what we do in this extended family.

Brian will be missed by so many people. His willing to help anyone was rare in this day. I will always remember him for being the "strong man" to put up our wedding tent. Prayers go out to his family and all his friends.

Our deepest sympathy and support to all of Brian's family and to our neighbors the Richfield Fire Department. We have all lost a VERY BIG part of our fire service and a very close friend. We will miss your presence and abilities on calls more than anyone will ever know. Not hearing your voice on the radio prior to our arrival at either our scene or yours is something we are already missing. Sitting in the office after your shift to discuss the "worlds problems" and knowing full well we cant fix them any way, was something we always looked forward to. We know your riding someone else's Engine now in a much greater place and surrounded by many other heroes-that have gone before us. Be assured your family will never be left alone. We will see to that.
Take care Chief.
