Obituary of Cynthia L. Menden

Cynthia L. Menden, age 61, of the Town of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 4, 2017. A Life Celebration service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Deacon Jerome Ruesch will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will take place from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services, on Saturday, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net. Cindy was born June 9, 1955 in Wisconsin Rapids to Robert and Doris (Knuth) Rehman. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Cindy married Michael Menden on February 25, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nevada and recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. She “ran the show” at Schadde Plumbing & Heating Inc. in Baraboo, WI for 32 years and was presently office manager at Advantage Plumbing & Heating Inc. in Nekoosa, WI. Cindy was a hardworking, dedicated, loyal employee. She loved to knit. Cindy would make and then give away her many creations, including wash cloths. Cindy loved to look out the window of her dream kitchen and watch “her” birds. She was a master cook and everything she made was amazing, especially her goulash and camp potatoes. Cindy loved to stop and eat at places along her many adventures, mainly to partake of a cheeseburger (with tomato, bacon, and onion) or a frozen pizza. She would enjoy her favorite meal with: an ice cold can of Old Style beer, a Southern Comfort on ice with water, or a diet Coke. Cindy and Mike could be found on their boat enjoying rides on Lake Arrowhead. She was an avid NASCAR fan. Cindy’s smile was a “ray of sunshine” that made this world a better place and made it brighter to everyone around her. Cindy is loved and will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Cindy is survived by her husband, Michael; children: Jennie Menden, Jeffrey (Laurie) Menden, and John (Nikki Swanson) Menden; grandchildren: Jurnee, Kayla, Abigail, Thomas, Kayne, Paityn, and Brady; brother, Mark (Dawn) Rehman; sister, Robin (David) Koeshall; and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by “her girls” Bree and Mya. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Doris Rehman. In Lieu of Flowers donations made be made to the South Wood County Humane Society.
