Obituary of James A. Roginski

James A. Roginski, age 78, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home in Menomonie, WI. Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 9:30 until the time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is assisting the family. A visitation will also be held at Olson Funeral Home, Menomonie, WI from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Jim was born August 15, 1938, in Pittsville, WI to Adolph and Margaret (Roth) Roginski. Jim worked at Shrenk, AO Smith, Harvestor, Wood County Highway Department, George Lucas Implement, Wieser Concrete and Lentz. He was an owner/operator over the road truck driver until his retirement in 2002. In his younger days, “Booger Jim” enjoyed stock car racing. He raced at Rangeline, Griffith Park Speedway, and Golden Sands Speedway. In his later years, he enjoyed shooting pool and socializing. Jim is survived by his children, Michael (Joy) Roginski, of Pittsville, Steven Roginski, Dale (Lisa) Roginski, of Wisconsin Rapids, Kelly (Kevin) Breu of Auburndale; grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Goodenough; Jacob, Nathan and Samuel Roginski of Wisconsin Rapids; Jason (Erica) Roginski of De Forest; Amanda, Kyle (Paige) and Elizabeth Breu of Auburndale; Michael (Jen) Lilly of Medford; Dillon Lilly of Plover; great-grandchildren Rease & Bentley Goodenough. Jim is also survived by two sisters, Alice Lucas and Shirley (Donald) Cantin, of Florida. A special friend, Phyllis Bowell, of Menomonie. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. His parents, brothers, Ralph, Donald, Earl and Orville, two sisters, Arlene and Joyce and a grandson Drew Breu preceded James in death. A special thank you to Tammy and the staff of Mayo Clinic Hospice for the wonderful care you gave to Jim.
