Dearest Lisa and family,
I wish to extend my sincerest condolences on the loss of your dad. You spoke so often of him when we would talk at work I felt I knew him. At the very least, I knew you loved him deeply and that he had a profound influence on your life. I hope you find, as you grieve, that once the deepest pain in your heart eases somewhat, you will be able to recall only the most joyous of memories. That will take a while, but it will come.
Blessings to all the Van Dyken family. Know that I am thinking about you.
XOXO

Lisa and the entire Van Dyken Family,
Please accept my condolences as well as those of the entire Cepek family.
Dr. Bob has left not only a wonderful legacy to you all but also to the community of Wisconsin Rapids. I have had the wonderful experience of getting to know Lisa outside of Rapids at Childrens Hospital. My family has had continued contact with many of the Van Dyken family members over the years. Please accept our prayers, sympathy and friendship at this difficult time. May your memoires and love give you comfort.
Take gentle care of each other,
Kris ( Cepek) Walleser

Dr. Van Dyken deliver my daughter when I was seventeen. That fact that I was a teen mom didn't effect his care or kindness to me and my husband at the time. He even stood up for me when a nurse gave me a hard time. He was a very kind man. I am sad to say good bye. I will pray for your family.

Although it was years ago when he delivered my kids, I remember his kindness and dedication to make us as comfortable as could be while the kids were making their way into this world. His calm demeanor was reassuring in the moment. Being a man who loved the Lord I am sure was the source of his gentleness and kindness.

Your parents moved to town less than a year after we did - just in time to deliver Kate (10-16-77) who decided to flip and lodged herself solidly breech. I'm so thankful that he helped me deliver her naturally! His soft-spoken, calm manner was always appreciated. Then along came Jeff in '80, and Tim in '82 . . . so three of our four entered the world into the loving hands of your father. He was a true blessing to our family, and we plan to see him again!

Sweet Lisa,
As I read the tributes about your father's life, I see that his wonderful way and kind countenance was also given to you. For a daughter to be like her daddy is a wonderful testimony. May you feel the Lord's peace carrying you through and may you know that the Lord is saving all of your tears in His bottle and recording them as special in His book.
.....Psalm 56:8 (NKJV)..8 You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?

I am so sorry for your lose. Dr. Van Dyken delivered my first born in 1989. My wife and I were dirt poor and had no insurance, but were determined to pay off all of our bills. It took us about a year to pay all the expenses of the birth of our son, but we did it. A week after we paid off the bill, we received a letter with a check in it. the letter said something to the effect that we needed the money more. this was a jester I have never forgotten and have tried to emulate in my own life. It is clear that Dr. Van Dyken was truly a man of God. Jesus will welcome him home and say "Well down good and faithful servant." If there were more men and women like this there would be few wars and few starving in the world.
God Bless the family!

I had met Dr. Van Dyken at the end of my husband and my childbearing years, and he delivered three of our twelve children. He retired right before we had gotten pregnant with our twelfth child. He was an excellent doctor and a great Christian. I was a Catholic Christian, and with each visit, we always had good discussions on Jesus and the Bible. We always shared the common grounds based on faith and life. We both understood the value; God places on life both in the beginning and end stages of life. He was a dutiful servant of God, and I commend his valuable attributes that he contributed to making this world a far better place having had him here. Thank you, Dr. Van Dyken

Barb and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. He served the Rapids community as a professional and his church community as a Brother In Christ. He always had a smile for me when I would come to church with Mom on a weekend visit.
My heart goes out to all of you in this time of grief. What a reunion he must have had with his loved who passed before him.
Love,
Jean (Dykstra) Kruchten
