Obituary of Alex D. Peplinski

Alex David Peplinski, Jr., age 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Arborview Court, surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father James Altman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Entombment will take place on Thursday January 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay, WI. Herman- Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family. Alex was born February 7, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI to Alexander and Wanda (Glodowski) Peplinski, Sr. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. Alex served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1957. Alex married Sally Lui on September 7, 1979 at the Chapel of the Lady Good Health in Green Bay, WI. Alex worked as a manager in the family business at Pep’s Café in Amherst WI. He also worked at the Port Edwards Paper Mill in the beater room for several years until his retirement. Alex was a quiet, good man that had a skill and knowledge for problem solving. He had a passion for flying his own Taylorcraft airplane with his friends around Wisconsin. He was a member of the Wisconsin Rapids, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and attended many EAA conventions in Oshkosh, WI. Alex is survived by his loving wife Sally, five siblings: Robert (Cheryl) Peplinksi of Big Bend, WI, Jean Brzezinski of Wausau, Sr. Jeanett Peplinski, Sr. Clairann Peplinski and Annette Horvath all of Green Bay, sisters in law; Rosalie Fabian and Nancy (Bill) Scharding both of Racine, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Delores Pierce, mother and father in law: Ted (Mildred) Lui, and four brothers in law: Jim Lui, Jerry Fabian, Robert Brzezenski and Albert Pierce, nephew Joe Pierce, and niece Judy Brzezenski.
