Obituary of Dawn Marie Apfel-Anderson

Dawn Marie Apfel-Anderson, age 57, of Waupaca, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. Services will be at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Rick Pickens will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Dawn was born April 16, 1959 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin to Roger and Delores (Wales) Apfel. She married Mark McClelland and they were blessed with two children before the marriage ended in divorce. She then married Kevin Anderson “PaPa” on April 2, 2011. He preceded her in death in 2012. Dawn and Kevin owned and operated a bar “Just Cruisin” for a number of years. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even children who weren’t her own children would refer to her as mom. She especially enjoyed walks along the river with her daughter in Waupaca. Dawn enjoyed listening to her husband play guitar. It was a favorite family tradition to make up silly songs and give everyone a nickname. Dawn was a free spirited person and was often referred to as the “gypsy child” of her family. She had a strong belief in natural healing. She was also a very spiritual person. She had a strong relationship with her Lord and loved to read the bible. Dawn is survived by daughters: Tracy Metz and Nikki (Jeff) Douglas; step-children: Katie and Carl Anderson; grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua and Josiah Metz, Aleisha (Kody) Beaman, and Kaleb and Kalani Douglas; great-grandchildren: Ilithyia and Emmaryiah; sisters: Cindy (Wayne) Parker, Rogette Apfel and Jackie (Mike) Moody; brothers: Jim (Carla) Apfel, Bob Apfel and Don (Molly) Krumwiede; step-father, Jack Krumwiede; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kevin Anderson; brothers: Willy and Michael Apfel; and sisters: Jeanette Krumwiede, Shirley (Chuck) Radtke and Roxanne Apfel; son-in-law, Jason Metz; and niece, Jessica Krumwiede.
