Obituary of Christine A. Crane

Christine A. Crane, age 64, of Nekoosa, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Waterford in Wisconsin Rapids after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. A Celebration of Life will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 26th. Chris was born August 18, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Gerhart and Rita (Goralski) Kubiak. She graduated from Homestead High School in Mequon, WI and married her high school sweetheart, Rob Crane, on May 8, 1971 in Milwaukee, WI. Chris was a very loving wife and an excellent mother to her children. She was skilled at handiwork and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cross stitching. Chris had a way with words and wrote many of her own poems. Chris is survived by her husband, Rob; son, Joshua of Boulder, Colorado; daughter, Juliette (Brian) Crane/Knapp of Spring Green, WI; mother, Rita Kubiak and sister, Kathy Anderson of West Bend, WI. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerhart Kubiak. Chris’ family wanted to share these reflections on her life: From her husband Rob: Chris and I found each other in high school. Chris was a straight “A” student and would have been collage bound but decided to marry me instead. I’m such a fortunate man to have married Chris. If I’ve accomplished anything in my life it was because of Chris. Chris was strong in body and mind. Athletic, not competitive, beautiful, caring of others, sympathetic and had a beautiful bright smile that could comfort those around her. Alzheimer’s took Chris at 64 years old much too early with absolutely no help from modern medicine. I will always love you my beautiful lady. From her son Joshua: You went too soon, but you will be in my heart forever. Your beautiful and gentle heart will continue to inspire and touch everyone you ever came across. You will be missed greatly but never forgotten. I will forever be your sunshine. Goodbye mom. Love you. From her daughter Juliette: Goodbye to my lovely mother Christine. Your smile, heart and spirit will warm the planet forever. Special thanks to the lovely people at the Waterford Memory Care facility and Heartland Hospice Services of Stevens Point, WI. In Chrisy’s memory please donate to your local Rescue Mission.
