Obituary of Francis L. Faehling
Francis L. Faehling, age 96, of Wisconsin Rapids (Town of Grant), passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at his residence.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Mary Lou Plummer will officiate. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Francis was born July 27, 1920 in Big Falls, Wisconsin to Albert and Grace (Raiman) Faehling. He was united in marriage to Norma Smith in 1941 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They were blessed with 61 years of marriage. She preceded him in death in 2002.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart.
Francis worked at Preway Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids and retired as Vice President of Engineering after 43 years of service.
Francis was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting wood. He also loved working around his hobby farm, tending to his flower and vegetable gardens and canning the harvest. Family was very important to him and he loved spending with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church.
Francis is survived by three daughters: Frances (Richard) Eichhorn of Searcy, Arkansas, Jean Limbaugh of Pangburn, Arkansas, and Diana (David) Luecht of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter-in-law, Sandy Faehling of Wisconsin Rapids; seven grandchildren: Debbie (Robert) Morris, Rick (Dezra) Eichhorn, Susan Nolte, Scott (Jeanette) Eichhorn, David (Cara) Luecht, Robert (Heather) Luecht, and Nikki (Jeff) Hunt; great-grandchildren: Samantha, Jessie, Miriam, Angela, Ross, Krista, Megan, Ty, Josh, Rhen, Emma, Dustin, Amber, Aston, Taylor Megan, Ian, Paige, Scout, Avery, Thomas, Kailee and Dustin; four great-great-grandchildren: Addie, Rhett, Oliver and Grant; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Norma; daughter, Emma Jo; son, James; brother, Robert; sisters: Joyce, Marie and Leah Mae; and sons-in-law: Pat Bourgious and Bud Limbaugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice for the care given to Francis.
