Maxwell was a gorgeous angel judging by his picture. I know there are no words that could ever make this easier for his family. There are only a couple things I can tell you for sure, he is in heaven (children this young are innocent) and he is watching his family. If you ever get a chance to read Embraced By the Light, by Betty Eadie or The Boy who came back from heavenm by Kevin and Alex Malarkey. My heart breaks for you. There are no words to take away the pain. All you can do is take comfort from the prayers and kindnesses of those around you. Max will be watching over you always, he will send you signs to let you know. Keep his memory alive and don't try to 'get over it'. Having just lost my 15 month old grandson, I have found some comfort and understanding by reading "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo and "When You Just Can't Say Goodbye, Don't" by Maria Malin.
