Obituary of Kathryn Scholze
Kathryn Jean Scholze, 55, 3306 Lone Pine Road, Town of Sigel, passed away early Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 5 at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park.
Kathy was born August 2, 1956 to Francis and Elaine (Pflugradt) Keller in Stevens Point. She married Larry Scholze on June 11, 1977 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids.
She worked for Fey Publishing for 17 years. Her greatest joy, however, was the time she spent working for Wood County Rescue and Higgins Ambulance Service and later United Emergency Medical Response as an EMT Intermediate Technician. Kathy also liked to work ambulance at Golden Sands Speedway, Marshfield Speedway and the water ski show. She also devoted a lot of her time volunteering at different area events. One event she truly enjoyed helping with was the ?Brother of Blades? lawn mower races. Kathy truly had a passion for helping others.
In her free time, Kathy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts and watching Lifetime. She was a go getter and always had a smile on her face. Kathy especially loved her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spoil them shopping. She also loved being outdoors, especially camping.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Larry; parents, Francis and Elaine Keller; son, Bradley (Heidi) Scholze of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter, Beth (Andrew) Roginski of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Isabella, Mason and Max Roginski; siblings, Mike (Crystal) Keller of Michigan, Jon (Diane) Keller of Wisconsin Rapids and Lori Enerson of Nekoosa; mother-in-law, Mary Scholze of Wisconsin Rapids; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her infant brother, Phillip; her grandparents; father-in-law, Walter Scholze; and brother-in-laws: Daryl Scholze, Daniel Enerson, and Bruce Anderson.
Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, and again at the funeral home on Thursday, January 5 from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Kathy?s name to UW Cancer Center Riverview or to Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Kathy?s family would like to thank all of the family and friends that have done so much to help out these past few months. They would also like to thank Dr. Kirschling and his staff at UW Cancer Center Riverview and the staff of Ministry Home Care Hospice for the exceptional care given to Kathy.
