Obituary of John Raprager
John B. Raprager Sr. 98, of 150 Shore Acres Drive, Village of Biron, passed away in his sleep at his home on February 10, 2012. Jack was born November 10, 1913 in Neenah, WI to the late Bert and Henrietta (Nelson) Raprager. He married Gertrude Grom on October 12, 1940 in Barrington, IL. She died on June 2, 2003.
Jack graduated from Lincoln High School in 1931 and received a BS in business administration from the University of Alabama in 1937. He was employed by Consolidated Water Power and Paper Co. for 38 years and retired in 1978 as Secretary/Treasurer of the Water Power Company. In that time he worked on the Petenwell and Castle Rock Flowage projects.
He enjoyed many trips to Florida, tending to his yard, going out dinner with his family, caring for his dogs, and his dry brandy manhattans on the rocks with olives. He was a member of BPOE (Elks) #693 for 67 years and was secretary for a few of those years. He was a veteran of WWII serving from 1942 through 1945 in the Army Air Corp.
Survivors include two sons, John Raprager Jr., and his children, John Raprager and Marni Raprager, and great-grandson, Mark Raprager, all of Sydney, Australia, and David (Klaudia) Raprager, of Tampa, Fla., and their son, Scott Raprager, of Summerland Key, Fla.; and one daughter, Lynne (Thomas) Kissner, of Plover, and their daughters, Jennifer Kissner, of Green Bay, and Lisa Kissner and great-grandson, Adison, of Plover. He was predeceased by one brother, James.
There will be a remembrance ceremony at a later date. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is in charge of the arrangements. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Linda Kalpinski, and Ministry Home Care Hospice personnel for the care provided to our father.
