Obituary of Michael Schwartz

Michael B. Schwartz, 60, of Plover, died Thursday morning, October 11, 2012 in Plover. Services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 17th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards. Rev. Daniel Bohn will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the church and from 10:00 am until the time of the services on Wednesday at the church. Michael was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on February 16, 1952 to Lloyd and Phyllis (Aschbrenner) Schwartz. He married Deb (Kramer) Schwartz on September 22, 1990 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The couple was blessed with two sons: Brent and Ben. Michael graduated from Wausau East High School and continued his education at Trans America School of Broadcasting. Mike was very passionate about radio and due to his passion he was the DJ for WPDR/WDDC in Portage for 10 years until 1986 and for WFHR/WGLX in Wisconsin Rapids, where he was best known as ?JD Michaels? on the air. He continued his radio years until 1999. Michael also was the MC for the Miss Wisconsin Rapids Area Pageant for many years. Michael was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he also attended Bible studies. He truly loved and enjoyed his family and his dogs. He was involved in BMX racing for 8 years with his son. During his BMX and radio years he also worked at the bike shop ?Wheels and Deals? where he took another passion and built bikes from the ground up. Michael is survived by Deb Schwartz; his two sons: Brent Schwartz of Weston and Ben Schwartz of Madison; and one sister: Beth Schwartz of Wausau. He was preceded in death by his parents.
