Obituary of Rodney Jelinski
Rodney B. Jelinski, 56, Town of Saratoga, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Services will be at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Dan Bohn will officiate. There will be a private family committal at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Nekoosa. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Rodney was born January 3, 1957 in the village of Wild Rose to Benedict and Lorraine (Rosin) Jelinski. He is a graduate of Assumption High School. Rodney worked in the paper mill for over 20 years before going to work as an over the road trucker.
Rodney was a good man who had a deep love of family, and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could. He was a devoted collectable muscle car enthusiast, often traveling to shows all over the Midwest. Friends and family always knew a car was Rodney?s for the meticulous way in which it was cleaned and maintained. He was also an avid music lover of all genres and movie buff. In his earlier years, Rodney enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the races with his children and catching a Brewers game every year.
Survivors include his fiancé, Kathy Borba of Wisconsin Rapids; children, Carrie (Mike) Brownell of Appleton and Jordan (Laura) Jelinski of Green Bay; grandchildren, Ashlyn and Zachary Brownell and Katelyn Jelinski; mother, Lorraine Jelinski of Wisconsin Rapids; siblings, Lyon (Ginger) Jelinski of Wisconsin Rapids, Carol (Gary) Collins of Rudolph, Conrad (Joni) Jelinski of Wisconsin Rapids and Deborah (Dale) Simonson of Wautoma; brother-in-law, Larry Finnessy; sister-in-law, Toni Jelinski and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Benedict; infant grandchildren and siblings, Joyce Finnessy and Jerome Jelinski.
