Aunt Irma was a generous, thoughtful Great Aunt. She was a loyal friend and wonderful sister to our Grandma Vi. Her letters were always filled with love and special memories. The services yesterday were a lovely tribute to Aunt Irma and a reminder that she will be missed by many.

We were very blessed to have Aunt Irma in our lives. When we were going into first grade, (six of us) she would take each of us to Wilpolts restaurant and then to the zoo and finally a stop at the old orange root beer stand on west grand ave. on the way back to the farm. What a treat that was for all of us. Certainly one I will never forget. She had an amazing memory even in her final days and could remember thngs that happened in my life that even I forgot! A sweet generous lady indeed and one that we will miss very much! -Brian Ruesch, nephew

I have so many fond memories of my Aunt Irma it's hard to know where to start! Certainly, as a young child I cherished the attention she gave me and she could always be counted on to know exactly what I wanted for my birthday or Christmas (I have a feeling my mom might have given her hints). As I got a little older I always admired her beautiful coordinated outfits, stylish shoes and perfectly manicured nails. I wanted to be a "working girl" when I grew up and could buy pretty clothes, too! She had an extensive collection of albums that included classical, folk and broadway musicals which she would lend to me. She introduced me to the music of composers like Beethoven, Chopin and artists such as Peter, Paul and Mary, Judy Collins, Simon & Garfunkel. When I grew up and moved away she still made an effort to stay in touch by letters and continued to take an active interest in my life and my children's lives. My Aunt Irma was so special to me. I will treasure her memory, always!

Aunt Irma was a cheerleader and supporter throughout our childhood and adult lives. She was positive and encouraging, always taking an interest in what we were doing and how we were coping. She sent delightful newsy letters, birthday and anniversary cards, and kept connected with each of us. She had the ability to picture our lives in such a positive, glowing manner that it would cause one to take stock and be more grateful for the blessings. She was the kind of aunt every person should be privileged to know as their own. She is dearly missed and will be remembered with a heart full of thankfulness for all she did to make us feel cherished and loved.
