Obituary of Marianne Webster
Marianne Webster, age 56, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards. Pastor Richard Pickens of Calvary Chapel Wisconsin Rapids will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the church.
Marianne was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 8, 1957 to Enrique and Diane (Gurunian) Torres. She graduated from high school in the Milwaukee area and received a full scholarship to study art at Alverno College in Milwaukee. She later continued her education at Mid-State Technical College where she received an administrative assistant degree.
While in high school, Marianne met her sweetheart Michael Webster and the couple were united in marriage on July 12, 1975 in Milwaukee. They were blessed with 38 years of marriage and four children.
After spending the early years of their marriage in Milwaukee, Marianne and Michael moved to Wisconsin Rapids where they raised their family. Marianne was employed in various positions with Wood County and later was employed as a customer service representative with Wood County Telephone Company.
Marianne was a very talented artist who loved doing oil paintings on canvas. She also had a love of photography and music and played djimbe (African drums). Marianne?s greatest passion, however, was being in a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and growing closer to Him every day. Marianne was a longtime member of Christian Life Fellowship and was attending Calvary Chapel Wisconsin Rapids in recent years.
Marianne is survived by her husband, Michael, three children: Amanda (Douglas) Christianson, Mark (fiance Marsha Curly) Webster, and Melissa Webster, and grandchildren: Cortney, Caylee, Dawn, and Dougie Christianson, Victoria Webster, Tanner Hahn, and Francis Marianne Webster, all of Wisconsin Rapids; her mother, Diane Torres of Hartford, WI; mother-in-law, Luetta Webster, of Wisconsin Rapids; five sisters: Teresa Torres, of Hatillo, Puerto Rico; and Esther Torres and Maria Margdalena Torres, both of Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico; Debbie (Donald) Webster of Wisconsin Rapids and Lilly Torres of Cudahy, WI; one brother, Enrique Torres Jr. of Hartford, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Enrique Torres Sr., and son, Michael J. Webster Jr., and father-in-law, Howard Webster.
