Obituary of Roy G. Amundson

Roy G. Amundson, age 72, of Stevens Point passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, 2201 Chestnut Street, Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Rome Cemetery. Roy was born December 9, 1943 in Nekoosa, WI to Albert and Bessie (Burrows) Amundson. Roy was employed at ODC in Wisconsin Rapids before moving to Stevens Point where he worked assembling pallets at Community Industries Corporation. Roy was a very kind person who was always willing to help. He loved to fish and would faithfully go on his Thursday fishing trips. He enjoyed traveling and loved his job. Roy is survived by his brother-in-law Joe Van Ert of Tomahawk; special friend and caregiver Korrine (David) Loehrke of Stevens Point; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John, Larry and Bruce Amundson; and sisters: Alberta Van Ert and Arlys Anderson.
