Obituary of Dorothy M Stensberg

Dorothy M. Stensberg, age 88, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. James Douglas will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Dorothy was born on February 22, 1927 in Wisconsin Rapids to George and Mabel (Rommel) Latourelle. She graduated with the class of 1945 from Lincoln High School. Dorothy married Richard Stensberg on September 16, 1950 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids; Richard passed away on July 27, 1974. Dorothy was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. for 20 years. Dorothy was an active person who enjoyed spending time outdoors: biking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling were some of her hobbies. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Dorothy liked to travel; she took trips to Germany, Alaska and Mexico. She was a longtime faithful member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Dorothy is survived by three sons: James Stensberg, Timothy Stensberg and Michael (Shirley) Stensberg all of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Melissa Stensberg, Alex Stensberg of Wisconsin Rapids and Chelsea Stensberg of Conroe, TX; great-granddaughter Lylah; sister Barbara Knight of Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, infant daughter and three brothers: Robert, Richard and George Latourelle. Memorials in Dorothy's honor may be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
