So very sorry to hear of Bob's passing.
My friends and I used to ride our stripped down Yamaha DT's and later, our YZ's, thru the ditches and fields all the way from South of Plover just to hang out at Yamaha City!
We'll never forget how welcome Bob made us feel. I'm glad his wonderful family continues his legacy.

Our condolences to your family. Bob was truly an intelligent man who was so willing to help everyone so they could enjoy the snowmobile world. He was quick to hand out advice for fixing those machines to those who have little knowledge of the mechanics! We so appreciated that opportunity to learn from him. And we always treated us fairly.

My condolence to the Donahue family. Bob will be missed although never forgotten.
Although I was only a footnote in the history of Bob's Yamaha City, working in the shop in the late 70s, Bob's impact on my life was substantial. As anyone that worked with Bob can attest, Bob's ability to problem solve, innovate, and teach contributed immensely to my future success. To this day I still clean my workbench and sweep the garage floor before I start any project. The most important lesson learned was from his devotion to his family which I tried to apply to my own family.
I could never begin to repay what I have gained although have strived to pay forward the lessons learned. Mark Haferman

Deepest Sympathy to the Donahue family. Bob and I were buddies in the National Guard. Back when I sold motorcycles, outboard motors, etc...he asked if I needed help in the shop, because he liked working on anything with motors. That is when he fell in love with motorcycles. He was one of the best mechanics I've ever had, talk about best, was also best man at my wedding. Bob we didn't get that motorcycle ride we talked about. I'll be thinking of you on my next ride. I won't forget that smile.

I will always remember Bob Sr. as one of the finest gentlemen and nicest men I dealt with in my days at Bombardier Sea Doo/Ski Doo. He was always a man of his word. He helped built the foundation for a Super Store dealership that is second to none. The boys have an opportunity to continue to follow in the footsteps of a great leader, mentor and father! What a great loss to the family and the Power Sports World!!!! He will be greatly missed by all. My deepest sympathy to the Donahue family! May God speed.

My second dad. Lived down the street from Yamaha city. He shaped who I am today. I'm living in Florida now but bumped into him by happenstance at an antique motorcycle meet. So glad I reconnected. It was a real treat to sit with him for litterally hours at a time reminiscing about the old days.
! So sad, we were scheduled to see each other in the near future. What an incredible man who shaped many lives.

RIP My Great Friend. I have so many great memories of our time spent in Florida. My fondest memory is when we were at the motorcycle races at Daytona and watching the space shuttle take off in the background. There were so many good times spent with you and Alice. I also can't forget last year you and I transplanting flowers and cactus from my moms site to yours and you making sure they were placed were you would think Alice would want them. I will miss you so much. My love and memories will never be forgotten. Franny!

Thanks for all the good times and memories Bob, you will be missed but never forgotten!

When I was a kid, Bob was always welcoming when I'd walk across the highway to go to his shop and look around the storefront. When I was a teen, Bob let me borrow a 3-wheeler to run around in the snow at the farm. As an adult, I found Bob the key individual behind getting the '61 Nash Metropolitan running reliably again by narrowing the problem down to the fuel pump and fixing it that very same night. My Dad always said Bob was a perfect neighbor and all around good guy. I found that to be absolutely true.

Mr. Donahue was a inspiration to me and the manor of which I conduct business in the power sports industry. His integrity is the gold standard. When I come to a tough decision, I find myself asking "What would Mr. Donahue do?" This guidance has always served me well. We will all miss his warm heart and friendly smile. Bob always treated me like one of his friends, not just a customer of Donahue Super Sports, but a member of the Donahue family. I look forward to the day we can unite in heaven and do some trail riding. My condolences to his Loving wife and blessed children....Central Wisconsin, this day, bears a heavy heart. Happy trails my friend, until we meet again...............................

I first met Bob when he worked for Glen Bring in 1965. When he started Yamaha City out on 8th Street, I followed him and gave him all my motorcycle business. I would hang out at the shop an watch him work with Buzz on Buzz's Ariel Square Four. When I came back from Vietnam, Bob had established the new shop out on Hwy 54. I wanted to buy a new BSA . Bob talked me into an XS650. I was and am glad that he did. Two years later, he and Buzz helped me hop the motor up. I took that bike drag racing and whipped up on BSA's and Triumphs. I have always felt that Bob was a big brother. Ride the wind my friend !

One of my favorite memories of Bob was after one of the County rides that ended at Homestead. I was loading my sled and Bob was and as always tinkering with his, when Marty Tank decided to load his sled onto his trailer. Marty had his trunk open for his helmet and tie downs so as he ran up the trailer, to fast I must add , he launched his sled into his trunk! Bob and I nearly fell on the ground laughing! Good times! Bob started and owned Yamaha City, later renamed Donahue Super Sports, for 50 years. It was way back in 1983 when my best buddy dragged me out to the shop so we could checkout the new dirtbikes in the spring. While he checked out those dirtbikes, I happened to notice Bob's very beautiful niece working the parts counter! Long story cut short, today She is my girlfriend! Through Her, I got to know the Donahue family so much better! Really great family selling really fun products! Already missing You Uncle Bob!!!
