Obituary of Richard Nicholas Glaza

Richard Nicholas Glaza, age 79, of Rudolph, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Rudolph. Father Clay Elmhorst will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home with a rosary prayer service at 7:30 P.M. There will also be a visitation held Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Richard was born on February 5, 1937 to Nicholas and Clara (Lang) Glaza in the Town of Carson. He attended Rudolph Elementary School. Richard met the love of his life Mary Lou Porter while they were both attending Rudolph High. They were married on June 21, 1958 in Rudolph. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage, 8 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Richard was a carpenter for Gruetzmacher Construction for many years before working as a carpenter millwright for Consolidated Paper Inc. for 17 years retiring in 1996. Richard devoted his life to his wife, children and grandchildren. He served his community as a Cub Scout Leader for five years, and taught children through catechism at St. Philips church. He liked spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and tending to his garden. Richard was a very talented craftsman who had a knack for woodworking. His talent is reflected throughout the community in homes, schools, churches and other local establishments. Richard and his wife loved to travel the world creating lasting memories together. Richard is survived by his wife Mary Lou, children: Debra (Mark) Kaisersatt, Robert (Teresa) Glaza, Chris (Lynn) Glaza, Diane (Eric) Bushman, JoAnn (Darin) Zimmerman, Dr. Ted (Matt) Glaza-Guerra, Duane (Ronelle) Glaza and Sara (Chris) Karnatz; grandchildren: Marina (Eric) Kaisersatt-Cruse, PA Joseph (Allison) Kaisersatt, Karissa (Derek) Hull, Mary (Matt) Hiebing, Patrick Glaza, Lauren Glaza, Dr. Jeremy (Dr. Michelle) Bushman-Kosovec, Stephen Bushman, Dexter (Kylie) Zimmerman, Brittany (Erica) Glaza- Stewart, Alissa Glaza, Tanner Glaza, Emma Karnatz and Lillianna Karnatz; great-grandchildren: Paxton Hull, Ava Cruse and Brenden Bushman; siblings Marie (Jerry) Joosten, Paul (Carol) Glaza, Nick (Patricia) Glaza, Bernadine (Leigh) Sickinger, Andy (Mary) Glaza, Darlene (Ed) Sayre, Terry (Chris) Groshek, and bother-in-law David Lorenzi. He was preceded in death by his parents Nick and Clara Glaza, sisters Dorothy (Bud) Hartney and Angie Lorenzi, and parents-in-law: William and Stella E. Porter.
