Obituary of John Gipson
John Charles "Bubby" Gipson, age 55, of Wisconsin Rapids died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Victory Christian Outreach Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Dave Mickelson will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the church. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family.
John was born April 6, 1960 in Waukegan, IL to John and Donna Mae (Nelson) Gipson. He married Sandra Ludtke on April 29, 2000 in Waushara County, WI.
He served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. He was employed as an over the road truck driver for various companies for more than 20 years.
John loved to spend time with his grandchildren and considered them his "medicine" because they made him feel so good. He loved to be on the road and visited all of the lower 48 states. John enjoyed gaming and playing on his computer.
John is survived by his wife Sandra; stepfather, Thomas Howard Sr. of Michigan; five children: Ron (Becky) Starkey and Ken (Jamie) Starkey of Wisconsin Rapids, Thomas Howard of Wild Rose, Samuel Gipson of Wisconsin Rapids and Lynne Timmerman of Plover; ten grandchildren; sister, Virginia Figueroa (Andre) of Chicago, IL; brothers: Daniel Gipson of Menomonee Falls, WI and Patrick (Becky) Gipson of Oshkosh; many nieces and nephews; and his dog Cody. He is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Earl Ludtke, mothers-in-law Carol Ludtke and Karen Ludtke, and a brother-in-law, Lee Ludtke; two nieces: Christine Ludtke and Catherine Ludtke; and his beloved dog Lucky.
