Obituary of Jack Record Bruner
Jack Record Bruner, age 77, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Services will be at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.
Jack was born on September 28, 1938 in Wauwatosa, WI to Record and Doris (Klink) Bruner. He married Neoma Alene McCarthy on September 14, 1963 in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 37 years of marriage; Neoma passed away in 2001. In 1957, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Jack was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. Biron Division for 39 years. Jack and Neoma owned and operated Neoma's Bar in Kellner for 17 years.
Jack was adventurous and liked spending time outdoors. He enjoyed flying model airplanes, riding motorcycles, hunting, boating, water skiing and downhill skiing. His favorite past times were to watch NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. Jack was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his children: Charlie Bruner, Wisconsin Rapids and Dorinda (James Jr.) Durkee, Edgar; granddaughters: Tammy (Rory) Volm and Jamie (Jason Adamski) Bruner both of Edgar; great-grandchildren: Samantha, Eric, Naomi, Mary, Jenna, and Nicholas; special daughter, Pamela Dhein, Athens; siblings: Bev (Don) Lau, Marge Rumble, and Carol Bruner, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Record and Doris Bruner, wife Neoma; two sons Jim and Mike Bruner and siblings Eileen Schraeder and James Bruner.
