Obituary of John F Kutella
John F. Kutella, age 71, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Asprius Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring.
John was born on August 21, 1944 to Louis and Mable (Winker) Kutella. He married Carla Kawalske on May 1, 1975 in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 40 wonderful years of marriage.
John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. His tour of duty extended from 1962 to 1966 in locations including Vietnam and the Philippines. As a young boy he worked at the Dip&Sip root beer stand owned by his parents in Nekoosa. He also worked at Nekoosa Papers/Domtar for over 34 years, retiring in 2002.
During his lifetime he enjoyed bow hunting, fishing and golfing. He loved to watch the Badgers every week with his brother-in-law Bob, he also loved golfing with his brother-in-law Al. John and Carla traveled to many locations, but his heart was always in Fort Myers Beach, FL. He was a T.V. buff watching ole cowboy movies or reading books. He and Carla dabbled in the "game of luck" at the casinos on occasion.
John is survived by his wife Carla, sons Wade (Amy Lobner) Kutella and Mark (Cindy) Kutella; his brother Jim (Charlene) Kutella, sister Judy Rezin; brothers-in-law: Robert and Al Kawalske and Joe (Pat) Ostrum; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and other relatives.
John was a good man. He will be deeply missed for his sense of humor, compassion and quiet strength. If John touched your life in any way, you were a very fortunate person.
