Obituary of Susan Marie Thoma

Susan Marie Thoma, age 57, of Wisconsin Rapids, died unexpectedly in the town of Rome on Friday, February 26, 2016. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Paul Tullberg will officiate. Burial will take place at Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Wednesday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. Susan was born on May 26, 1958 to John and Joyce (Holden) Baron in Nekoosa. She attended Nekoosa Schools and graduated from Nekoosa High School in 1976. She married the love of her life, Robert Thoma, on October 2, 1976 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 39 years of marriage, 2 children, and 5 grandchildren. She loved to go for rides and enjoyed the wonderful views found in the mountains out west. Susan enjoyed bowling her entire life. She especially enjoyed her Thursday Night bowling league, in which she participated for 40 years. Susan was employed at Blossom and Bow's floral in Wisconsin Rapids, where she enjoyed being a floral designer. For the past 4 years, she worked in the deli department at Pritzl's Trading Post in Rome, WI. Susan is survived by her husband, Bob, children: Ben (Kari) Thoma and Nicole (Jason) Nachreiner; grandchildren: Jakob, Kade, Kali, Hunter, and Paige; siblings: Teresa (John) Marceau, Frank (Kathy) Baron, and David Baron; sisters-in-law: Patti (Don) Gansch and Sue (David) Bittner; brothers-in-law: Tom Thoma and Bill Thoma; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joyce Baron, her brothers: John "Yogi" Baron and Mike Baron, and her mother-in-law and father-in law: Irvin and Lila Thoma. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Susan cherished the time she spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is loved and will be deeply missed.
